Kupu Aotearoa is a Māori-owned whānau business based on the Kāpiti Coast, creating meaningful gifts inspired by Aotearoa.
Our pieces are designed to celebrate connection, identity, and belonging. Whether given as a farewell gift, a reminder of home, or a way to stay connected across distance, every design is grounded in aroha and the power of te reo Māori.
We believe some gifts carry more than others.

We are proud descendants of Ngāti Ruanui, Tūhoe, Ngāti Kahungunu, Te Āti Awa, and Waikato-Tainui.
Kupu Aotearoa is a 100% Māori-owned whānau business built on a simple idea: creating meaningful gifts that celebrate te reo Māori, connection, and a sense of home.
Why don’t you use Māori artwork or patterns?
We respect Māori artists and practitioners and intentionally work within our own creative space. Māori visual art is not our lane. We admire Māori visual artists and we encourage you to support the professionals who specialise in that space.
How do your T-shirts feel?
Our tees are AS Colour branded, designed with a relaxed fit.
They’re easy to wear, easy to style, and suited to everyday life.

How long will my order take to arrive?
Orders are packed with care and usually dispatched within 1–3 working days.
You’ll receive tracking details once your order is on its way.
Do you ship internationally?
At this stage, we ship within Aotearoa New Zealand only.
International shipping is something we’re working toward as we grow.
What is your returns policy?
We would be gutted if something has slipped through our strict quality control process so please do not hesitate to reach out within 14 days of receiving your order.
