What is Kupu Aotearoa?

Kupu Aotearoa is a Māori business which launched in February 2026, and is a premium travel clothing label built around kupu (words) that carry meaning.
We create simple, intentional pieces designed to be worn on repeat. Clothing that travels well, looks good, and stands for something real.

Māori-owned? Without a doubt.

He uri mātou nō Taranaki, Tūhoe, Ngāti Kahungunu, Te Ātiawa hoki. These are our people.

Nō Aotearoa mātou. We are from Aotearoa.

Our focus is on the kaupapa, the kupu, and creating travel culturewear that carries meaning no matter how far you go.

Why don’t you use Māori artwork or patterns?

We respect Māori artists and practitioners and intentionally work within our own creative space. Māori visual art is not our lane. We admire Māori visual artists and we encourage you to support the professionals who specialise in that space. 

How do your T-shirts feel?

Our tees are AS Colour branded, designed with a relaxed fit. 
They’re easy to wear, easy to style, and suited to everyday life.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Orders are packed with care and usually dispatched within 1–3 working days.
You’ll receive tracking details once your order is on its way.

Do you ship internationally?

At this stage, we ship within New Zealand only. 
International shipping is something we’re working toward as we grow.

What is your returns policy?

We would be gutted if something has slipped through our strict quality control process so please do not hesitate to reach out within 14 days of receiving your order.
